Relationship between Special Nursing Home Residents’ Level of Independence in Activities of Daily Living and Skeletal Muscle Mass Index

[Purpose] To clarify t he relationship between the level of independence in activities daily living (ADL) and Skeletal Muscle Mass Index (SMI), as well prevalence low skeletal muscle mass, care-dependent elderly residents nursing homes. [Participants Methods] In 39 women special homes, Barthel (BI) representing ADL mass based on bioelectrical impedance analysis to calculate SMI were measured, correlation 2 indices was analyzed. The used screen for conforming Asian Working Group Sarcopenia 2019 Consensus. [Results] coefficient BI 0.61. 84.6%. [Conclusion] results suggest a revealing presence most home residents.
